Conditional Acceptance through English as Second Language (ESL)
Students who do not meet CIABT’s English language requirements should consider enrolling in the English for English as Second Language (ESL) program. This program has six intakes throughout the year (January, March, May, July, September, and November) and consists of 6 levels. Each level is 16 weeks in length and includes 25 hours per week of classroom and lab instruction. Class size is limited to 20 students maximum. Upon entering the program, students are assessed and placed in their appropriate level of study. ESL students may also be granted conditional acceptance into many of CIABT’s Pre-University Courses, 1- year diploma or 2- years’ diploma programs and may enter the program after successful completion of level six as stated in the English Language proficiency Policy. No further English testing is required.
International Student Services
CIABT provides many specialized services for international students. We can assist students with questions regarding immigration, transition, housing, health insurance and employment. In addition to acting as a resource for students, we provide various opportunities for students to learn more about Canada and meet new friends. The International office also houses many resources on work/study abroad, multiculturalism and other international issues.
